I saw your appearance on CCTV9 International tv. Also, I saw the Nightly News on 8/22/08. To say that I am disappointed on both occassions is a gross understatement, because you were superficial on CCTV, and your highlighting only the western journalist on the nightly News was jingoistic.

I suppose that I was looking for more in depth reporting on the Nightly News, as you indicated you would do on CCTV. You, the western media, are now second rate to CCTV, as far as, detailed reporting is concerned. Until I began watching CCTV, I had nothing to compare you and the western media against. Every time that I watch you and the western media format on the national media, I cringe. The western media must do a better job.

For example, broadcasting the news, as well as, other programming and formats similar to CCTV is in order to keep your audience. Other wise, you will become what the American auto industry has become to Asia auto makers.

The recent public news revelations that Hillary Clinton was to be on 'role call' at the Democratic Convention as presidential nominee has startled citizens here and abroad, but the "show of unity" status assigned to this nomination has been made to sound like a consolation-door prize type of appointment with little status or force of law.

I stated in the other article about this that this nominee designation may carry more importance than expected in the event any accident should befall Sen. Obama and he became unable to carry on for any reason. Hillary is clearly attempting to hang on as a presidential nominee and will most likely do anything she can to get back into the W. House again.

This contrived nomination is the manifestation of her desperation to regain government and Department of Justice control in order to avoid prosecution for what some authors refer to as "stealing vast sums of money, ordering murders, and other unspeakable crimes".

MOSCOW (AP) -- Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, the Nobel Prize-winning author whose books chronicled the horrors of the Soviet gulag system, has died of heart failure, his son said Monday. He was 89.

Stepan Solzhenitsyn told The Associated Press his father died late Sunday, but declined further comment.

Solzhenitsyn's unflinching accounts of torment and survival in the Soviet Union's slave labor camps riveted his countrymen, whose secret history he exposed. They earned him 20 years of bitter exile, but international renown.

And they inspired millions, perhaps, with the knowledge that one person's courage and integrity could, in the end, defeat the totalitarian machinery of an empire.

On July 7, a Navy veteran suffering from psychological problems hanged himself after being turned away from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Spokane, Washington. A July 20 report by the Spokesman-Review notes that the death of Lucas Senescall was the sixth suicide this year of veterans under care of the Spokane Veterans Administration (VA).
In spite of lawsuits, legislation and countless pledges from officials for improved care, thousands of US veterans who return from occupied Iraq and Afghanistan bearing profound mental trauma continue to be denied adequate treatment. According to data from the advocacy group Veterans for Common Sense, the VA is currently treating 325,000 Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans, including nearly 134,000 for mental health problems.
